The JH girls’ basketball team traveled to Harbor Beach last night to take on the Pirates. Despite facing a bigger and faster opponent—and competing with a short bench of just six players—the girls battled with heart and determination from start to finish. Fatigue set in during the second half, and the Pirates ultimately came away with the 27–6 win. Faith Szymanski led the way with a strong all-around performance, scoring all six of the team’s points and pulling down six rebounds. Julia Polega also grabbed six boards, while Laela Bennet added three. Olivia Wisneski and Oaklee Miller each contributed two rebounds as well. Great effort, girls—keep working hard!
