North Huron Varsity Warriors Fall To Peck Despite Strong Performance From Landon Mergucz By GameChanger Media Even though Landon Mergucz struck out 10 batters, North Huron Varsity Warriors still fell to Peck on Thursday at Gallup Park, Port Austin. Mergucz gave up four hits and two runs over six and two-thirds innings while walking two. The pitching was strong on both sides. Peck pitchers struck out 16, while North Huron Varsity Warriors sat down 10. Peck got on the board in the top of the third inning after North Huron Varsity Warriors committed an error, and Dorian Abrego singled to left field, each scoring one run. Honza Polhman earned the win for Peck. The hurler allowed four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 16 and walking none. Kaleb Brandt-Antoszewski, Jett Zimmerman, Jacob Koroleski, and Logan Prill each collected one hit for North Huron Varsity Warriors. Abrego provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Peck with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Cal Heiden stole three bases. Peck stole four bases in the game. Peck didn't commit a single error in the field. Cam Watson had the most chances in the field with 15. Next up for North Huron Varsity Warriors is a game against Peck on Thursday.
